How do I delete Dropbox from MacBook Pro?

Yes, I followed the instruction at the Drop Box support site as suggested by another user on this site. It partially worked but did not remove folder:

Macintosh HD > Users > my_name > Public > Drop Box

Unfortunately most of the info on other sites is for Windows or old versions of MacOS. At least it is no longer running according to both Activity Monitor and Force Quit.

Dropbox is in Finder Sidebar>Locations

How to uninstall Dropbox on your computer

you can safely ignore that folder in your User/Public it is 0 bytes it is not associated with your third party app.

Yes I saw that it didn't occupy any space, just seems like a good idea to delete it. It is amazing how many applications won't cleanly uninstall on a Mac. I can't get rid of C2 Backup or Get Backup Pro.
Perhaps I should buy a Cleaner app?
I do have an app that checks for duplicate files that is slow but otherwise works well. I kept a backup of a friends photo library on my computer and it had over a thousand duplicates.

I thought the reference link above would clarify the situation.

It is not related to your third party app Yes it has the same name. Full Stop.
