Hot corner with a slight delay

I´m using a hot corner in Sequoia to lock the screen and start the screen saver, so when in an office space and I need to leave the Mac unattended it´s a quick way to assure it´s locked. However, it only takes a fraction of a second for the mouse pointer in the corner to lock the screen which becomes a bit annoying. It´s easy to touch the corner unintendedly, the screen locks and you need to unlock it.

Is there some way the add a small delay to when the hot corner gets activated?

Have you tried setting Fast User Switching and using it to switch to Login Window via the menu when you leave the Mac?

That happens to me, all day, every day and it is very annoying. We used to be able to set a delay in the old System Preferences so if you move your Mouse Pointer into the Hot Corner it would turn on Screen Saver right away but if you moved the mouse pointer (I think it was before 3 seconds) the Screen Saver would turn off. This is a big problem for me and they need to fix this.
