How to bypass 6 digit passcode on iPhone 6s?

Hi all. I reset my old iPhone 6s for my wife to use, but it is asking for a 6 digit passcode. I’ve tried any I can think of and tried hooking it up to my computer to use the Apple Devices app to reset but it will not show up. I’ve removed it from my “Find My” features as well. It also will not give an option to connect to WiFi. What can I do to reset this or find the mysterious 6 digit pin (I use a 4 digit pin). Thanks!

Are you sure its asking you to enter an existing passcode, and not just requesting you set one up?

If you restored the device it would have erased everything, so no passcode should be set on the device and it would then require you set it up again. One of the steps in the set up is to set up a passcode. By default it will request a 6 digit one, but you can tap on Passcode Options below the field and set it to 4 digit passcode if that's what you want.

In that case, you will need to erase it again and set it up one more time.

Update! I was able to reset the phone using the Apple Devices App! I had to hold the power button and home button down on the 6s rather than just one of them. Thank you for the help!

That’s what I thought as well, but it’s definitely asking for an existing passcode. Each time I do try it’s now locking me out for an hour before I can try again.

Hi there, I have tried this, but I can not get the 6s phone to show up on my computer’s Apple Devices app when connected. All of my other phones will, but this one does not.
