can I retrieve something from trash after I deleted it back in Feb/March and if so how?
I have a IPad and IPhone only and not very knowledgeable about computers but can usually navigate around my IPad. Thank you.

No. No retrieval. Not even seconds after deletion. Much less months.
If you still have older backups, look there. But most folks don’t keep iPad backups that far back.
