What to do if iPhone 7 is stuck in DFU mode?

I have an iPhone 7, and it got the black screen of death a while ago. I tried everything to reset and fix it, but nothing worked. I then put it DFU mode, and now my Mac can find the device. However, the Mac cannot update it for some reason. The progress bar will tell me it is "Waiting for iPhone...". Any help, or should I assume it's a hardware issue?

While I'm sure that may be the more feasible option, that is not what I am asking for help with right now. Thank you.

Your iPhone 7 has a hardware problem.

The hardware problem prevents the DFU restoration.

You will want to contact Apple Support, and discuss running diagnostics, and a repair estimate.

Here’s a posted estimate (and some fine print) from Apple:

“What to do if iPhone 7 is stuck in DFU mode?“ Replace the iPhone. it has failed.

An iPhone 7 usually isn’t worth repairing.

Usually best to spend that money on a newer (used, refurb) or new iPhone.
