how to make a high sierra installer usb on a M2 mac? (Or work around "the recovery server could not be contacted")
I really don't understand why this is so hard...
I want to make a bootable USB installer for High Sierra for an old Mac laptop (model A1278) using my M2 laptop.
I don't understand why I would need an old Intel-based Laptop to create a bunch of files that the old Intel laptop can read.
What I'm really trying to deal with is I can't use the built-in Remote install for High Sierra ("the recovery server could not be contacted"), which this URL describes and has a solution for, but it doesn't work for me, so I'm trying solution 2 of creating a USB bootable drive.

So, either making a bootable USB or fixing the remote install for High Sierra would make me happy.
