What should I do if I forgot my Apple ID recovery key?

If you have forgotten your Apple Account password and have previously enabled a Recovery Key and subsequently lost the key, then the Apple Account will be inaccessible.

The fundamental reason for enabling the Recovery Key is to prevent all other means of performing an Apple Account password reset.

If you do have the Apple Account and a trusted device, you can re-generate a Recovery Key, or can remove the Recovery Key.
