CarPlay changed after the most recent upgrade

after the most recent iphone upgrade, my CarPlay connection doesn’t work the same way. i used to see text messages pop up on my display when connected and using my iphone to listen to something (podcast or book) but now it only works if I'm connected and using the phone or navigation features. What settings do I have to change to make it work the way it used to? It started automatically reading messages out loud instead of popping up a display. I’ve managed to turn that off but not to get the display back.

Apple took this feature away with the 18 update. It was an intentional change and the only way to try and get it back is to use Apple.com/feedback to report how it effects use, safety and other aspects. Since there isn’t an option for CarPlay previous advisors have said to put it under iPhone on the feedback page. As of my last call they said it will not come back unless a large number of customers demand it, so get all your Apple user family, friends and others to report if they’ve been negatively effected by this change.
