Airpods max 2 will not playback via USB-C on my iphone 15 pro max

My iPhone 15 pro max (OS 18.4) will not playback via USB-C cable to my new AirPods Max (2nd gen) for Lossless audio. It will only playback via bluetooth only. However, when I use my MacBook Pro it will playback via the USB-C cable just fine for Lossless audio. The AirPods Max firmware is 7E101.

In my iPhone I can see the AirPods Max displayed but it will not connect (see screenshot).

AirPods Max Wired Connection not working My airpods max will not work using a wired connection. I have a genunie apple lightning to 3.5mm aux cable. The headphones work fine over bluetooth, but will not work with an aux connection on any device.

Listening to my new Apple AirPods Max headphones. Hi all, I can not get my AirPods Max headphones to connect to my new MacBook Pro computer and also not to my new IPhone 15 Pro Max phone.On my other two IPones ( 11 Pro and 12) they work fine.A real mystery to me!
