Mini doesn't recognise Sandisk 1TB SSD after update to Sequoia 15.4

Updated to Sequoia 15.4 on my Mini and now my Sandisk 1TB SSD doesn't mount (also not visible in Disk Utility) - cables USB-A to USB-C. Before this I'd get the "damaged disk" message but could mount it via the application Sandisk Security. The disk is not damaged as it mounts fine with my MBA (USB-C to USB-C). Using cables supplied by Sandisk. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

You're welcome.

Since the drive mounts fine on your MBA, I'd advise that you secure a second external drive, copy the contents of this SanDisk drive to the new drive, then erase and reformat the SanDisk again. There is no good reason that the drive should not mount on either Mac without the SanDisk workaround.

At the very least, mount the drive on the MBA and run Disk Utility's First Aid routines on it to repair any damage that it might find. Perhaps there's some minor directory issue that is keeping it from mounting. DU's First Aid might take care of that. How to repair a Mac storage device with Disk Utility - Apple Support

Exactly which SanDisk drive is this that is giving trouble?

Delete the SanDisk Security software. The Mac doesn't need this to use external drives. The junk that ships with a new drive should never be relied upon for access to the drive.

If possible, recover any data on the drive to another and then reformat that drive and start fresh. That's what I would do.

Hi, Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately the Security software was the only way I could get into the drive on my Mini, and was the recommendation of Sandisk themselves as the workaround for the message about the drive being faulty (which it isn't; it works fine with my MBA and always has). Then again, it doesn't seem to be any help now (as it can't see the drive).

Starting again with the drive would be a nightmare as it contains the contents of two machines plus a large amount of audio and film archives. I guess sometime I'll do it when I have a day or two spare.

Hi, and than you again. It's the Sandisk Extreme 1TB SSD (the one with the orange-ringed hole).

I think the problem with the Mini started with telling the disk to trust the computer; I didn't do that with the MBA. After that I got the "faulty disk" messages and all that followed.

I'm going away on Monday so doubt I'll have time to copy the contents to another disk till I return, but I'll follow your advice when I do. Many thanks.
