Why are my People & Pets not updating on iPhone after updating to iOS 18.4?
I have a iPhone 15 Pro running 18.4. I have plenty of storage, have done the reset in the photos app, connected to wi fi, restarted device, yet nothing works. Recent photos I have added (over a week old) are not appearing under the designated person. These are the steps I followed.
- 1. Restart your iPhone:
- A simple restart can resolve many software glitches.
- 2. Check for Photos app updates:
- Go to the App Store and make sure you have the latest version of the Photos app installed.
- 3. Ensure iCloud Photos is enabled:
- Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Photos and make sure it's turned on.
- 4. Reset people and pet suggestions:
- Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Photos and scroll down to find the option to reset people and pet suggestions.
- 5. Rebuild your Photos library:
- Back up your photos first! Then, you can try rebuilding your Photos library by deleting it and then recreating it from a backup, according to Apple Support Community.
- 6. Check for Low Power Mode:
- If you're using Low Power Mode, it can pause iCloud Photo uploads and prevent the People & Pets album from updating,
Additional Tips:
- Wait for processing:
- The People & Pets album may take time to fully update after a new photo library is created or after a reset.
- Check device storage:
- Insufficient storage space on your iPhone can also impact the processing of the People & Pets album.
Any thoughts? Thank you
