When the Home Button fails on iPhone, it is usually indicative of a physical or hardware issue. As a result, you need to have your iPhone checked out at your nearest Apple Store Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Also you should be honest with Apple when you take the phone to them. There are moisture sensors built into the phone and they will surely be tripped by the phone's unfortunate swim in iced coffee. Don't be surprised if Apple won't offer a hardware fix. They usually won't touch a phone, which has sustained liquid damage. So be prepared to buy a new phone. And if you can, backup your phone immediately so you don't lose any data.

Hello!

Try force restarting the device: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If that doesn’t work, I suggest you take the device in to a Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for further examination. It is your choice whether you want to spend money on such an old device, if they do find that something is wrong/needs to be replaced.

Hope you have a great week!
