iPhone 14 repeatedly disappears from Photos 6 App on MacBook Air when connected by USB Cable

The iPhone appears briefly in the Photos sidebar, then disappears, then reappears continually. Making it impossible to download images into the Photos App

Also, some cables work well for delivering power in a charge mode, but they are no good for transferring data. So, it's not just old or frayed cables that cause problems-- many brand-new cables just don't work. (It can be very frustrating--I speak from experience, here!) So, as Yer_Man suggests switching cables, be sure to use one that you're sure is made for data transfer-- an Apple cable, for instance.
