So when you go on notifications and click on an app when you want to change the sound it makes you would click it and change it but I can’t my sound is only a switch for on and off so I can’t pick a new sound

You cannot pick a specific notification sound for apps in iOS. App developers can program their apps to have unique or different tone/notification sounds than what iOS carries, but on a user level, we cannot pick a specific app sound for different apps. Other than, of course, reminders, text messages, mail, phone, etc. Here’s the full list:

That would be up to the developer of the app. They are the ones that control features of their specific app. There are a few apps out there that allow changes to their notification sounds, and some also give you a small selection you can use. But 3rd party apps do not have access to the sounds library on the iPhone.
You can only change certain sounds for certain apps in said app, and if there is not an option in the app, there is no way to change it. The only things you can change are for a select apps that apple has in settings
Is it possible that this will change? It is helpful to have different sounds for the apps so that you know what you are being notified about especially when you are not by the phone.
