Apple Pay invalid card message on a valid card

My debit card needed to be updated because of a new card with an updated expiration date. I have tried to set up the new card multiple times with the same result. It just returns an invalid card message. I have set the card up multiple places with no issue. Apple Pay is the problem. I’ve been to the bank. Everything is fine in their end. They don’t even see where Apple requested verification.

The verification request goes to the Payment Network Operator (Mastercard, Visa, American Express etc.) first and if the information sent is verified it goes to the bank for final approval. The PNO is blocking it.

It sounds like maybe the old card wasn’t properly removed. The token representing your card may still be on your iPhone. Contact the bank’s support team and have them verify the token is removed and your card is ready for provisioning.
