Wondering just where you want to use haptics:
You may want to check your software is up-to-date, and the settings are as you want them to be:
Make sure your iPhone 16 is running the newest iOS version: iOS 18.4.1
(NB: If you need to update your iOS, it is wise to back up your iPhone first.
Apple Support's online article: Change iPhone keyboard sounds or haptics - Apple Support
Eg: says:
"Turn iPhone keyboard haptics on or off
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to Sounds & Haptics > Keyboard Feedback.
- Turn Haptic on or off.
Turning on keyboard haptics might affect the battery life of your iPhone.
If you turn on keyboard haptics but you don't feel haptics when you type, make sure that
Vibration is turned on in Settings > Accessibility > Touch."
