I need the iPad Pro with M4 chip and iOS 18.4.1 to stick with the type of sound I choose for the timer instead of reverting to the default radial sound. This can be done on the iPhone 16. The timer on the iPhone does not change back to the default sound type ever.

If your iPad is not operating as expected, try a forced-restart - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

I have erased all from my iPad Pro with M4 chip. I then had to restore this iPad with the latest copy of its contents I have on my MacBook connected to it with USB-C cord. The same problem of the timer tone reverting to the default has occurred, whether I deleted previous memories of the timer sound settings or not. This reversion to the default timer sound on the iPad had never happened during the last 15 years until the last month or so. This reversion has also NEVER happened in my iPhones, including the iPhone 16, in the last 15 years.
