After upgrading to 15.4.1, certain programs like PIA and VLC Media are not working

I cannot get VLC Media to work. I then went to try my VPN (PIA) and it will not open. This all happened after the above upgrade.

FYI- Problem solved. The new update turned off the permission I gave VLC for local network (under system settings/privacy & security). Once I turned it back on it worked again.

I have no such setup so I wouldn't know, but it sounds like a problem with the "video encoder" and Sequoia 15.4.1, not VLC. Try contacting support for the video encoder. Perhaps it needs an update.

I have a video encoder on my home system. It allows me to watch and control my cable box on any computer/ipad that has VLC (whether in my house or not). I upgraded last night and when I launch try to launch, in the Media Libray, my network address for the VE I get the error box that says it will not launch. I have tried reinputting the ip address and same issue. However, I have no issues on my other mac that I did not upgrade the OS. Also, works fine on my ipad.

FWIW, VLC 3.0.21 works fine on the three Macs I have running Sequoia. I don't and wouldn't use a VPN, so I don't know about PIA.

Are you running the latest oS 15.4.1? It was also working fine on older versions of Sequoia, just not the newest when I upgraded last night

Got PIA to work. But so far nothing on VLC. Will keep trying and hope that someone else has this type of problem

Just tested it for that and no issues with the few videos I have on the computer. Only the network connection to stream from my encoder. Can't find it.
