How can I unlock my iPhone 5s without erasing the data?

Hello, I have an old iPhone 5s can’t remember the password and it’s to the point if I try another wrong code it’ll lock for 30 mins. I have used the same iCloud account for every time I get a new phone so it’s an email I can access, is there anyway I can get into the 5s WITHOUT deleting any of the stuff on it? I’d like to reminisce if I could lol. PLEASE help!! Thank you so much for reading!

Others may correct me, but I don't believe there is any magic way to get back in without losing data if you

  • Don't know the passcode,
  • Don't want to wipe the data on the phone, and
  • Haven't made iCloud backups, synchronized data to iCloud, or otherwise already copied photos, etc. off of the locked phone to some other place where the copies would not be wiped by a reset

With one exception: If you are running a recent enough version of iOS, and you changed the passcode within the last 72 hours, you might be able to get in with the old passcode to reset the current one. That wouldn't apply to an iPhone 5s – because it can't run the versions of iOS that support that passcode reset feature.

Unlocking a Locked iPhone:

So, where to go from here...

Troubleshooting a Locked iPhone:

Seems you have a locked iPhone. So, contact Apple Support. Refer to the following...

Hold It Right There!:

Enter the passcode incorrectly too many times, and you'd likely be locked out for good. So, hold it right there, and refer to this link: If you Forgot the Passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is Disabled - Apple Support. It would be the one you've always entered. If you do not know it, then look for it in a location you may have stored it in.

Being Locked Out...

Have any Proof of Purchase?

Unless you have the original packaging and receipt, you may be out of luck. If you do have it, however, then take this to an Apple Store, or an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider)! and they may be able to restore it. The reason for this blockage is all about Security & Privacy.
