Unable to upload photos from my SD card to iPhone 16

I just bought a new iphone 16. Frequently I take pictures/photographs. Several times I have tried inserting the SD card into the adaptor, but there is not an option now to upload the pictures to my photos. I have tried restarting my phone several times, re-inserting both the SD card and the adaptor into my phone and nothing seems to work. The pictures are not found in my files either. Is this a software update that is needed (my phone already has the newest update)? Is this a known problem to Apple? I didn't have any of these problems with my iphone before this.

When I plug in an SD card my Photos looks like this:

If I look in the Files app, I see this:

If yours doesn't look like this, then I would guess that there is something wrong with your SD card, your adapter, or your cable if you're using one. Try replacing each one in turn until you find the culprit. I'm betting on the adapter…
