Why do apps on my iPad take up more storage than my iPhone?

Pretty much have the same apps on my iPad from my iPhone and they share the same account (linked) for example I have google drive on both devices but for some reason it takes up 28.64 GB on my iPad vs on my iPhone is 505.9 MB or gmail is 1.66 GB on my iPad but 806 MB on my iPhone but I use it wayyy more on my phone! This is the same for instagram why is that the case?

depend on the app really

apps like google drive on a normal computer will keep the google drive dir in full sync with google drive in their cloud

where the app on iphones don't download all the data from google cloud unless you set it to, so likely their iPad app handle it likes it's handled on computers. or you have made more data available offline on the iPad then you have on the iphone.
