What kind of properties are you looking for?
On a Mac you can see some properties when you select the photo and click the button (i) in the toolbar or enter the keyboard shortcut ⌘i.
For more information select the photo, the use the command "Image > Edit with > Preview".
When the photo opens in Preview go to the main menu bar and use the command "Tools >Show inspector" to see more IPTC and EXIF data.
