OS15.4.1 (Sequoia) fails to add OfficeJet 5255 Printer

Help. My new Mac running OS15.4.1 (Sequoia) fails to add my OfficeJet 5255 to the "Printers & Scanners" system settings.

• System Settings --> Printers & Scanners --> Add Printer, Scanner, or FAX...

• Select my printer in the Default list (HP OfficeJet 5200 series)

• Add button...

• ... "An error occurred while trying to add the selected device.  Unable to communicate with the printer at this time."

This happens in either wireless mode or wired USB mode.

Then Tried HP Easy Start to download latest drivers:

• It recognizes the printer, downloads & successfully installs the Essential Software (15.9.0.1) and HP Easy Scan (2.0.0.2)

• Then, under the "Add and verify You Device" --> "Add and Verify" --> "Add Device..."

• ... "Cannot configure the device software. Go back to the previous step and try to install the software again."

of course following the re-installation direction results in same error.

I've tried all the directions on the HP and Apple sites about Resetting Printing System, removing old drivers & HP software, re-booting printer and computer, etc. No luck.

Funny thing is that the HP Utility software communicates just fine with the printer, and I can even use it to do scanning. Just can't print from MacOS.

Seems like an incompatibility between Sequoia and the HP printer software. The printer continues to work just fine on my old Mac running OS12.7 (Monterey).
