Why can't I access websites starting with "ag" on my MacBook Air?

I'm having issues accessing a website that starts their web address with ag. I have accessed this site many times and just started having this issue in the last day or two. I have tried it with Chrome, Safari, and Firefox with the same result.

This is the message I receive:

This site can’t be reached

ag.umass.edu took too long to respond.Try:

  • Checking the connection
  • Checking the proxy and the firewall

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

I know the site is active as I can access with a Windows machine. My IPhone is getting the same result when I try to get to the website.

Both my Mac and my IPhone are on the latest versions of software (Sequoia 15.4.` and 18.4.1 respectively).

I have contacted the owners of the website to see if they have any ideas on what's happening. But any assistance from this site would be greatly appreciated. I've gone through everything I can think of at this point.

Thank you.

Works fine here.

The same result as what? The same failure as the Mac or the same success as Windows?

Do you have any kind of "security", "privacy", "network filter", "VPN", "clean up", or "boost up" software running? If so, remove it. Yes, that includes "Little Snitch".

I suspect this is not a Mac issue...

ag.umass.edu [ the website is umass.edu ] the ag. part is a subdomain just a part of the umass.edu larger site.

It forwards me to this page: https://www.umass.edu/agriculture-food-environment/

I would simple try at a later time or day and compare your results. It is either the server has issues or your local area and the pipeline is having temporary routing issues.
