How to take a long screenshot of an entire chat in iMessage?

There is no built-in very-long-screenshot mechanism for capturing Tumblr-style conversations in Apple Messages app, particularly if you’ve ruled out a screen recording.

You can capture and stitch together screenshots.

PicSew, Stitch It, and other apps are available for that stitching.

You can't do that on an iPhone or iPad. You can take a series of screenshots. Or, you can use an application like TouchCopy or iMazing to archive all of your messages to a pdf or text file on your computer.

In Maps, it seems to be designed to give you a screenshot without all the directions, etc at the bottom. But I wouldn't call that a "scrolling screenshot." I'm guessing that the OP wants a record of a multi-screen conversation. And sadly, Apple doesn't make that easy.

So there is a way to take a “scrolling screenshot”, but at the same time, not really.

When you take a screenshot, look for a “full page” option at the top of the screen. It doesn’t appear in all apps, one option being Apple Maps. I don’t think it works in Messages, (but it may work in other messaging apps) so you better explore the options giving by IdrisSeabright.
