How to shoot wide video on iPhone 16e or trade for iPhone 16?

Purchased 16e but realized no wide video format. Any good apps to recommend to shoot wide video or just trade it for a 16 and take a financial loss.

There is no "app" to give you an ultra-wide camera lens. You can take a picture taken with a "regular" lens and simulate having taken that photo with a "telephoto" lens by chopping off the edges (with a loss of resolution). But a picture taken with a "regular" lens has none of the "extra" parts of the scene around the edges that would have been recorded by a wide-angle lens.

The closest you could get is to to take a Panorama (which requires you to move the phone around so it can see more parts of the scene), or to use some AI program that adds fake information around the edges (that might not reflect the actual scene very well).

Basically, if you need to take wide-angle photos, there is no substitute for a wide-angle camera.

Correct. The iPhone 16e does not have the 0.5x video capabilities.

If you purchased it within 14 days from Apple, you can still return and exchange it. Or ask wherever you purchased it from about their return policy.

Aside from that, Apple does not allow you to Trade In the current lineup of iPhones. Meaning you won't be able to trade in your iPhone 16e. You can either wait until next year's lineup to Trade In or sell it on your own and put it towards a new one.

The lens on the iPhone 16e is the full frame 35mm equivalent of a 26mm lens. A 50mm lens is generally regarded as the angle of view of the average human eyesight.

So, a 16e has a wide angle lens, just not as wide as the 16 Pro and Pro Max models. You might want to shoot a little with it because the .5X is 13mm equivalent and has approximately twice the angle of view as the 26mm. That’s too wide for many scenes. The 13mm also has a lot more distortion and is not as sharp in the corners.
