It really isn't an issue, the standard fans do a good enough job as is. I just that in the summer time we don't have an AC unit to have cool air flowing inside our humble abode. So I will need a cooling pad so it doesn't overheat in the summertime. This is why I'm asking what's a good cooling pad for this Macbook pro.

Cooling pads were useful when the processor relied on contact with the bottom plate to stay cool. The ventilation designed changed significantly when the Unibody Macbook Pros were introduced in about 2009. Since then, cool pads have been far less useful. IMHO, save your money.

is a tip I wrote to discussing keeping your machine cool. If you are seeing adverse affects of heat, such as machine unexpectedly shutting down on its own while doing tasks, I would look into doing more to cool down your work environment itself.
Even getting window air conditioner units can make a world of difference.

If you can't do this, keep it at least out of direct sunlight.
Air ventilation cooling pads that have their own fans are good but not perfect. Because ambient air temperature and humidity does make a difference. People who run the computer on in a dusty environment, or environment with a lot cigarette smoke often find their computer can get choked up by dust bunnies. A certified apple service center can look inside the computer to verify if dust bunnies are affecting it.
