I’ve just updated my phone to iOS 18.4.1 and now my phone won’t to connect to car play via the wire, is this a fault in the update or is there a setting I have to change to get it to connect.

I just figured mine out. Unpaired and repaired phone, and in the phone settings, you can see the paired phones, paired audio and projection manager. Select your paired phone and enable projection and CarPlay.
I have a Jeep Wrangler so it may be a little different on your vehicle
Hope it works because being without CarPlay was a real drag
