I have four AI apps and I have used them for technical topic searches including patent searches. They all vary with successes and some mistakes. I am asking if anyone has had successful text editing with any of the AI apps beyond the dedicated editing apps thank you Michael

"AI" is a very generic term. Lots of apps and services use AI for things. I use Grammarly for proofing and editing a lot of what I write. It uses AI for some of its functions. I find it very helpful.
If you have a subscription to Microsoft 365, it includes Co-Pilot, Microsoft's AI. I haven't experimented with it yet, though.
Best is honestly too subjective. What one person finds is best for them, someone else may not agree. I suppose, most will suggest ChatGPT and even Apple has built in ChatGPT to Apple Intelligence on iPhones which are capable of running Apple Intelligence.
