How do I reset Apple TV's cache of my previous "Connect to TV" apps ?
Apple TV 4K A2843 (128GB) running tvOS 18.4.1
Disney+/Hulu/Max bundle from Hulu directly.
I am trying to get Disney+ as a connected app on Apple TV - aka to show up in the sidebar under "Channels & Apps". I installed the Disney+ app and played various titles on the Apple TV but it doesn't ask if I want to "Connect to TV" thus never shows up in the sidebar under "Channels & Apps".
When I go into Settings, Apps, TV, Connect to TV : I see Disney+ listed and even when I set it to ON and go back to play Disney+ titles it still doesn't add the app to the sidebar.
I have noticed there's a bunch of old apps not loaded on my Apple TV currently that are still listed under Settings, Apps, TV, Connect to TV. They are set to OFF but they never are removed from the list even if I reboot or toggle them ON, then back OFF with options to disconnect and clear history.
I had Disney+ on the sidebar a few months back when I had a previous Hulu bundle, so I know this did work.
I assume there's some cache on the Apple backend servers related to all this, but cannot figure out how to clear that cache and start fresh. I have tried rebooting and even resetting the Apple TV to factory settings to no avail ... the old apps still are listed under "Connect to TV" and cannot get Disney+ to connect to 'Channels & Apps".
Suggestions ?
