CarPlay plays audio on Bluetooth headphones instead of of car stereo

When I get a call on my iPhone the audio switches from my car stereo to my Bluetooth headset and I can’t get it to switch back without stop the car and restarting. Very annoying. How do I get the system to give priority to the car stereo when I’m using CarPlay?

CarPlay switching sources automatically So clearly this is an Apple issue going on for years with NO fixes. The most recent question about it was a while ago therefore I am starting it again. I really hope there is a fix… Picture this: I am listen to the radio (local or XM). If my phone is connected to CarPlay and I open up an app (any social media app, news apps and even my camera app, among others), it immediately switches audio sources to my phone away from the radio. I do NOT want this to happen. Anyone know of a fix? This did not happen in my 2018 Nissan. And it did not happen in my 2024 Toyota until about two months after I bought it. and I have also upgraded my phone since it started to an iPhone 15. I have tried going in to shut off Bluetooth to those apps that cause it but there is no option to do that. I have reached out to both Apple and Toyota. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Jen

CarPlay Question when I am in the car using CarPlay, how can I switch to audio being outputted through my phone instead of the car speakers without disconnecting CarPlay.

Car bluetooth issue - Audio output switches to "iphone" when answering Im having issues with an iphone and hearing calls via bluetooth. Im able to successfully connect my phone to bluetooth and can hear the phone ring through bluetooth, but when I go to answer the call - the audio output instantly switches to iphone audio (have to hold ear up to phone to hear it). When I go to select the output option as the vehicle (on the iphone call screen), it switches right back to "iphone". I am able to select "speaker" option. Note: Other iphones work fine - just mine has the issue Ive tested it in another vehicle, and I get the exact same issue (other family members dont) Thefore I suspect the issue is with my device.
