Cannot Delete iCloud Drive Folders

Hi! I’ve disabled the “Desktop & Documents” sync in iCloud Drive on my Mac, but the “Desktop” and “Documents” folders still appear in my iCloud Drive. Even when I delete them manually (on iPhone, Mac, or iCloud.com), they keep coming back.

I want them permanently deleted from my iCloud Drive.

I’d be grateful if someone could advise whether this can be escalated to Apple Support to have the folders removed from my iCloud Drive.

I recently had stubborn "Desktop" folder in iCloud Drive although I had never knowingly enabled iCloud "Documents & Desktop" option. After trashing it, it was automatically re-created.

The fix was to drag "move" it first to the local Desktop, THEN trash it.
