I can't seem to get the wallpaper to change on my MacBook Air. Used to be able to change my wallpaper to any image I had on my MacBook and now it won't change to any other than the Apple inbuilt options.

Have added a folder containing images to use as wallpapers using the add folder option via System settings-Wallpaper. On selecting any image within the folder - the wallpaper does not change. This has previously worked on any MacBook I've owned before but have issues on my last Air M3 and the same on my new Air M4

Yeah I'd have already done that part - when I select any of the images - it isn't changing.

Images in jpeg, png and webp image formats
Webp image format (. Google created ) is supported in Safari but not sure it can be used as a Wallpaper
