When I ask siri to play a playlist in CarPlay mode, She repeats the playlist name I've requested, but then begins playing the first track in my library and fills the "up next" cue with my entire library alphabetically. This doesn't happen when I engage with siri on my phone only. It's only an issue in CarPlay.

In iOS 18, when using CarPlay, asking Siri to play a playlist can cause it to ignore your request and instead start playing your entire music library alphabetically. This happens because Siri in CarPlay prioritizes Apple Music’s streaming catalog over your locally downloaded content, unlike Siri on the iPhone alone, which handles local playlists correctly. Until Apple fixes this in a future iOS 18 update, you can work around it by creating a Siri Shortcut that plays the desired playlist and then asking Siri to run that shortcut while in CarPlay.
