How do I fix 'No video capture device found' and undetected camera on a 2020 MacBook Air M1?

i have a 2020 macbook air M1 and i bought it second hand with the screen broken and i tested if it worked with an original screen and then i bought a second hand original screen from another broken macbook. i knew that i would lose the true tone feature, but i didnt care about that.

my issue is that with all the original screens i tested, the camera wasn't being recognized and the light didn't turn green on any of them, so I replaced the display connector to the logic board and the problem was the same. i know that the issue isn't the screen or the connector because i replaced both of them with official and genuine parts.

the system reports says "No video capture device were found" and it doesn't appear on USB devices, as i saw on other posts here. I tried reinstaling macOS again but nothing changed...

one of my USB-C sometimes doesn't work, but i don't think thats related to this.

i think this may be a logic board issue, but all seems fine as i bought a macbook that was barely used since this 5 years. the logic boards is clean and doesn't show any burn marks or anything...

can anyone help me please?

Remove All Profiles:

There may be profiles installed that are unpermitting usage of the camera. So, remove them. See my User Tip: How to Use a Profile to Disable the iSight Camera in macOS 15 Sequoia - User Tip

Check the iSight Camera and Reinstall the macOS:

I. Is there a Camera Even Seen? Screenshot of a Mac Without a Camera

A. To Find Out:

  1. Go to: Apple menu
  2. Select: About this Mac
  3. Click: System Report... button
  4. View: Hardware on left-column
  5. Click: Camera
  6. Confirm if a Camera is Even Seen

B. If no camera is seen....

Get the Drivers:

If no camera is seen, then the drivers went missing, somehow. So, you need to get to drivers. And to do that...

Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall.
