When I used to take photos on I-Phone, they would automatically show up on my computer (without direct connect). Now they don't! Can anyone help?

If you enable iCloud Photos on your iPhone and on your Mac, then assuming that you have enough iCloud storage space, they will synchronize their photo libraries through iCloud.
Photos taken on one will show up on the other. Photos deleted on one will show up on the other. (A Mac can have several Photos libraries, so could have a main one that synchronizes with iCloud, and others that are strictly local.)

Perhaps you're thinking of a system called My Photo Stream, which was discontinued a year and a half ago. This has been replaced by iCloud. Are you using iCloud synchronization? Do you see your pictures at your account at iCloud.com?

Got it! Seldom go to I-Cloud but now see that's where the pics from I-Phone are going.
