What is the best VPN for iPhone

I took a road trip to N Carolina and have been getting daily texts from unknown sources about my phone bring danger of being hacked or infected with malware. The most frightening aspect of this is that they are using my first name or my first and middle name.

how do I fix this?

If you think using a VPN will somehow make you invisible on the internet, think again. Bottom line? No one can stop this. All you can do is ignore the texts and report them as junk. When you delete a text you are giving the option to “delete” or “delete and report as junk”. Delete and report it as Junk in the hoper that Apple’s junk filters will catch at some of it. Our phone numbers, email addresses, even names are floating all over the internet just from being part of the internet. Various companies have sprung up claiming to be able to erase you from the internet, protect your identity, and prevent identity theft. They collect your subscription fees and that’s about all they do.

The only thing I would recommend is using Apple’s “Private Relay” which is a sort of mini VPN that just masks your IP address. To use Private Relay you must be a subscriber to iCloud+.

None.

The only reason to use a VPN is because your employer or school requires it.

Despite the fancy advertising claims that you may have seen for a VPN......a VPN provides less.....not more security.

The messages that you are receiving are scams trying to trick you into using software that will do nothing to help the security of your phone. In addition, most VPN companies sell your personal data to other companies, so you can expect a huge increase in junk mail and pop ups if you opt for a VPN.

Alternatively to the other answer, VPNs
can improve security, make it insanely hard to track you, and can allow you to bypass regional restrictions and a American network in Italy, so all the languages would be in American and etc.

i would recommend nord VPN for professional people and the one from the picture below if you want a free one.

good luck

Sorry, but iPhone not only doesn't need a VPN, it NEVER benefits from a VPN. Free VPNs do nothing more than sell your data to anyone willing to pay for. VPNs generally cause all sorts of issues, and we see thread after thread after thread of people who have installed a VPN on their iPhone, to find they cannot access Wifi and have Bluetooth issues. Also, people who use banking apps, find they can no longer get into their banking apps. We, who have been on this forum advising users for years, NEVER recommend a VPN.

VPN’s actually don’t provide the heightened security as they advertise. It’s actually the opposite as the connection between them and your iPhone is public.

By the way, there is a saying that if a product is free, you are the product. Meaning the fact that this VPN is of no charge, they are selling your data to make a profit.
