Apple has a nice tool that lets you compare features:

Mac - Compare Models - Apple

No one here can really tell you which one you should by without knowing a whole lot more about how you plan on using it. Also, amount of RAM and storage are important considerations.

Without going into specifics, the MacBook Pro offers a much more powerful system overall (with 7 ports) with a larger Pro Display (higher refresh rate) with a 6 speaker sound system.

The MacBook Air is a light weight and battery saving compromise in comparison (with 4 ports) with a 4 speaker sound system.

You need to see them both in person at your local Apple Retail Store to decide.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉

The 13" and 15" MacBook Airs

  • Are available with plain M4 chips.
  • Have two multi-purpose USB-C (USB, USB4, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt ports) and a MagSafe 3 charging port.

The 14" and 16" MacBook Pros

  • Are available with plain M4 chips (14" size only), M4 Pro chips, and M4 Max chips. The higher-end chips have stronger GPUs and are also more powerful in other ways.
  • Have three multi-purpose USB-C (USB, USB4, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt) ports, a HDMI port, a SDXC card slot, and a MagSafe 3 charging port.
  • Have fancier screens.
