Issue with Ivanky USB-C Docking Station and New MacBook Pro M4 (16" 2024 Model)

Model VCD03 appears to be an Ivanky – Ivanky FusionDock 1 .

The description says "Enjoy seamless connectivity via USB-C, without relying on Thunderbolt 3."

At first, that sounded like a red flag. Macs do not support driving two displays over plain USB-C docks. Only over Thunderbolt ones. Then paged through the user manual on the site, and saw the gimmick. You have to plug this dock into your Mac in a way that lets it take up TWO of your USB-C ports. With two USB-C connections, it would theoretically be able to grab one video signal from each host port without having to use Thunderbolt.

I wonder if this could be a software issue with the current version of macOS. There have been some reports in the forums of problems with second displays that started when people updated to macOS 15.4 and that were not fixed by the latest update (macOS 15.4.1).

I just bought an ivanky doc..and noticed my usb C connector... the thing that plugs into the dual ports on my Mac.. they are slightly bent upward..both are.. so when it is fully seated into the Mac, the connector ends up being at an angle.. not 100% flat.. it works..but wondered if this is supposed to be that way or if I got a defective one?

You would need to ask the manufacturer.

Readers here are other Users like you, and have no insider information. Apple support does not have such detailed information about third-party products, either.
