Do you have Attention Awareness turned on? This feature determines when you are looking at your iPhone and automatically adjusts certain features such as volume. Go to Settings > Face ID and Passcode > Scroll down to Attention Awareness and turn off.

Do Not Disturb and Silent Mode do not affect the alarm sound.

Having the exact same issue, and it’s also affecting my emergency bypass notifications which is, y’know, a problem.

Solutions I’ve Already Tried:

• My ringtone has “Change With Buttons” disabled, and always has before this issue has started
• I have turned Attention Awareness off, and it was always off before this issue started
• I have turned my phone volume up all the way to max before sleeping, to see if the “Change with Buttons” setting was broken. This had a 50% success rate

Solutions in Progress:

• Updating from iOS 18.4 to 18.5 (unsure if this started with the 18.4 update or prior to that)

Additional Notes:

• Model: iPhone 13
• Apple Watch: No
• Duration of Problem: a couple weeks by this point, if I remember correctly
• I have so many alarms I would *really* rather not delete them all; leaving that as a last resort option
