Hi,

To connect a Canon G3010 series printer to an AirMac (which refers to an Apple device, not a specific printer), you'll need to ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and then add the printer to your Mac's list of available printers. You'll likely need to download and install the appropriate printer driver from Canon's website.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. 1. Connect the Printer to your Wi-Fi network:
  2. Consult the G3010 series manual for instructions on setting up Wi-Fi connection. This usually involves connecting the printer to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac using the printer's control panel or a mobile app.
  3. 2. Download and Install the Printer Driver:
    • Go to Canon's support website and find the printer driver for your model (G3010) and your Mac operating system version.
    • Download the driver and follow the installation instructions.
  1. 3. Add the Printer to your Mac:
    • Go to System Preferences (or System Settings in newer macOS versions) > Printers & Scanners.
    • Click the "+" button to add a printer.
    • If your printer is already listed, select it. If not, follow the prompts to add it, potentially selecting the driver you just installed.
    • You may need to manually select the G3000 driver if your Mac doesn't automatically detect it.

Canon PIXMA G3010 supports AirPrint, which will allow connections from your MacBook Air to the printer, as well as iPhone and iPad:

It looks like that printer wasn’t supported with macOS, though. I don’t see a firmware update for macOS, and the user guide doesn’t indicate the ability to update firmware from the printer itself. Only Windows.
