The 'Significant Locations' feature on an iPhone is generally as accurate as other location-based services provided by Apple, such as when getting directions in Maps, finding a device using Find My, or tracking a person’s shared location.

Explanation:

  • Significant Locations uses a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cell tower data—just like other Apple location services.
  • Its accuracy typically ranges from a few meters to about 100 meters, depending on conditions.
  • However, it's optimized for learning patterns and habits, not real-time precision—so while it's fairly accurate, it's not as pinpoint as directions or live location sharing.

I called Apple Support the other day with concerns about my where about's on Significant Lications. It seems that I was at 3 different locations one afternoon that I was at work. These locations were over 10 miles away and the times listed for them was when I was at my job. The advisor gave me some explanation about my IP address that didn't make my sense to me because for one I'm on the WiFi at work. I asked if my data for this could be downloaded but never received a response. Do you know if that is possible?
