Missing slideshow controls on my iPad Air Photos app

Tried to create a slideshow for a memorial service for my mother. What the heck happened to the slideshow? No options to adjust speed, crossover, music, nothing. I’ve spent countless hours compiling and editing photos for this, and my frustration is building.

I have used this feature many times previously, and now can’t find any options. Am I being a moron, or has Apple removed this functionality to implement some other unnecessary function or AI doo-dah?

Re: Missing slideshow controls on my iPad Air Photos app

Seems the "memory movies" in the Photos app can be edited in similar ways to the slideshows of old .

Personalize your memories in Photos on iPad - Apple Support

Eg: says:

" In the Photos app, you can edit your memory movies to make them even more personal. Try out Memory mixes, which let you apply different songs with a matching photographic look. You can also choose new songs, edit the title of a memory, change the length, and add, reorder, or remove photos. "

Alternatively: Apple's iMovie app is free to download.

You can turn your videos and photos into movies, ( you can just use still photos if you want ):

There are (non-Apple) tutorials available on YouTube, for a glimpse of what's possible.

All the best :-)

I can't speak to the former, but the answer to the latter question is that you have no control over slideshow creation in Photos in iPadOS or iOS. ( The Mac version gives lots of options.)

As far as I can see, your only choice is to use a 3rd part app. There are a number of them in the App store, and they generally cost money, though there may be a free trial period. If you find one you like, let us know.

It's worthwhile to let Apple know what you need:
