How to fix upside-down double-sided printing with HP 4201 dw and Mac printer driver?

I just installed a new HP color LaserJet printer replacing my prior HP laser, color printer, and with the printer driver when I say double sided it prints one side of it upright and the other side upside down. It seems to be that the print on long edge does not work in this printer driver. Is there anyway I can get an update?

That printer does not appear to support AirPrint, which means it is completely dependent on the continued availability of vendor printer drivers. That omission alone would lead me to return this printer.

As for continuing its use, if the firmware update from January has not been loaded, load that, too. That;s available at the same link listed in the previous reply.

Have you played with the Layout settings in the Command-P print dialog box?

But as others have said, when purchasing a printer, get one that has AirPrint support.

I also used to own HP printers (partially because I was in a company acquired by HP and I got a discount), but now that I am paying regular prices for my printers, and not getting a discount for replacement toner, I got a Brother multi-function printer with AirPrint support, and the ability to use 3rd party toner.

The printer does support air print however I do not use it. I prefer to be connected via a USB cable directly from my max studio to the printer. The printer was just delivered today so it's a new one and also very frustrating. You mentioned a firmware update from January but I did not see that listed. I will now look again.

Your call. AirPrint means it usually keeps working after driver support ends.

Current status:

I can print double-sided through the HP smart app with the front and back page in the same orientation

If I try and print through Mac, such as I'm in numbers and I print a spreadsheet five pages, it will print one page and one orientation and on the back page the second page it is upside down.

I have a four page application that has some color in it and when I send that to the printer, it just sits there for 45 minutes and then the printer just shut down and it's a PDF developed in Mac.

When I was printing from my HPM477 color LaserJet I had none of these issues. It's just that the older printer gave up the ghost. I am stuck and frustrated. If there's anybody out there that can help it would be more than appreciated.

Yes to no avail... I'm trying to print her off and on I've rebooted my computer. I've turned my computer off, which is a new Studio M4 Max I have downloaded the new drivers multiple times. I have reset the printer so now if I call up the HP smart app and print from it I can print double-sided as normal. However, if I go into pages or numbers and try and print it freezes up, won't print anything and in order for me to print again from HP Smart app. I have to turn the printer off and turn it back on. Not the optimal situation.

I will check with HP tomorrow on Monday about returning this non-functioning printer. If there's any other suggestions of all ears.
