Can I use my existing O2 SIM card with a new iPhone 16 purchased directly from Apple?

Please help - going on the holiday of a lifetime so I want a new phone to make memories but keep my existing number and sim payment contract with o2. Any help would be great!!

Unless you have an iPhone made for China, it doesn’t use SIM cards; it has eSIMs. But if you transfer content from your current iPhone during the setup you can migrate the contents of the physical SIM card to an eSIM. Or you can call O2 and ask them to provision an eSIM for your new iPhone with the same number.
