Apple AirPod Pro 2 from Costco Compromised Packaging

I purchased an AirPods Pro 2 from the Costco web site. When the package arrived, I noticed the seals had been cut. The contents of the box appeared to be in order, but I was understandably concerned. I called Costco support and discussed the problem with them. They could not explain how this had happened and said, "Trust me, this isn't something we see". They offered to replace the unit. They would send me an email with a return code (within 48-hours), them I must ship the product back to them, then they have to verify the device has been returned intact. Then they will initiate a replacement shipment, which will then take the same amount of time the original shipment did(over a week). I asked for expedited shipping, the rep checked with her supervisor, and they refused. I chose the solution to return the device to my local costco warehouse for a cash refund, then I will order from the apple store (like I should have done in the first place). I thought Costco was an authorized reseller.
