How do I enter a 10-digit Indian mobile number for billing address on iPhone?

I am trying to set up a payment method on my new iPhone. I can't update the billing address as the phone number field is set to accept max 9 digits. Mobile numbers in India are 10 digits. I have re-selected the India region but this does not fix the issue.
