iPhone 15 not detecting Bluetooth devices

I upgraded to an iPhone 15 last week and it won’t make any Bluetooth connections. It doesn’t even register any of my devices that I want to connect with.

This is a frequent topic on here, and I guess the iPhone 16 had similar issues.

This an unacceptable flaw for me. Should I return the phone to my provider, within the 2 weeks allowed, and get an iPhone 14 or earlier? There are plenty of YouTube DIY videos to try to fix the inoperative Bluetooth feature; I’ve tried several without success. This seems to be a fundamental problem with the software of these phones.

Has anyone successfully resolved this issue and is able now to seamlessly connect to all their Bluetooth devices with iPhone 15 or 16?

Yes, it’s a frequent topic because many users do not understand how to configure Bluetooth.

Are you sure you are pairing Bluetooth devices to your new iPhone? Pairings do not transfer, because the Bluetooth connection is tied to the hardware MAC address. So you must pair each device to the new phone, and you may have to factory reset each device unless it allows multiple pairings and you have not reached the its limit (all devices have some limit; 1 in many cases, 2 or 3, sometimes 5).

Thank you for your reply and the articles. I have tried all the appropriate methods to connect.
For example with my soundbar and my car; I have ‘forgotten this device’ on my retired iPhone 11, so they are no longer connected, then put them in pairing mode, have my iPhone 15’s Bluetooth and neither of them ever appear as options to connect with. Nor any of my other devices.
This phone is a lemon. I’m going g to have to return it and get an older phone, if Apple’s newer Bluetooth tech is just inoperative.

There is NOTHING wrong with Apple's newer Bluetooth Technology. I own an iPhone 16 Pro Max and currently have no less than 8 Bluetooth devices successfully paired with my iPhone.

Maybe schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar, and take one of the devices you want to pair with you and let Apple see if perhaps there's an issue with the Bluetooth Radio in your phone or you're just not pairing it correctly.

Have you changed the name of your iPhone in Settings > General > About > Name? This can sometimes be a problem with pairing a phone to a car's infotainment system.

Did you see what I said about factory resetting the device you want to connect to? Forgetting it at the iPhone it is connected to does not reset the device itself.
