No they cannot hack your phone. The only thing that would be concerning is if you used the same password for your Apple Account. In that case if they learned your Insta password, they may also be able to get into your Apple Account, although with two factor authentication you would be notified if they attempted to sign in on an unknown device.

You are correct that Meta has terrible customer service and honestly they really don't want to hear from you. There is no direct phone contact or even a support site for their users to discuss any issues. Getting a response when reporting an issue from within the app is iffy at best.

Contact Meta for an explanation. It has nothing to do with your phone or your Apple Account as long as you are not using the same password.

Ask meta. They own both Facebook and instagram. Those are not Apple products or services. It wouldn't have anything to do with your phone.

Here is something to keep in mind regarding Facebook, instagram, and any other "free" service you use.

If you are not paying for the service, you are not their customer. You are the product they sell to their actual customers, the paying advertisers.

And no, they can't hack your phone.
