Voicemail prompts sometimes won't work on my iPhone 15

This happens infrequently, but it's super annoying when it does. When I call a business or company that has voicemail prompts (press 1 for customer service, press 2 for service, etc.) sometimes pressing the numbers on my iphone 15 keypad does nothing. Sometimes it will "think" I haven't made a selection and hang up. Talk about annoying after waiting on hold!

If I call back on my landline, no problem. This happened again today when I called an infamous large rental car company. No other issues with my iphone. Any thoughts?

Have you tried to force restart the iPhone to see if the issues persist?

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button.
When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

That appears to have worked! I called the same number and followed the same prompts with different results today! I had tried a regular shut down/ restart previously with no change. Let ‘s see whether I have the same problem in the future …. Thanks!

The above solution worked temporarily, but today I had to call a major financial institution and my number prompts did not work. Again.

Here's an example: It said "Please enter the last 4 of your account number followed by the # sign." I did that it kept repeating as though I had not entered anything.

This is getting annoying. I am going to head to the Apple store one of these days but I know it will work beautifully in the store. Any suggestions, technical types?
